  • 10:00-10:30 β€” share a story + introduce craft/activity

  • 10:30-11:15 β€” craft/activity/free play

  • 11:15-11:30 β€” family tea and closing

Full Moon πŸŒ• (3:30-5:30 PM)

  • 3:30-4:00 β€” opening circle, welcoming families in, placing items on altar and checking in, opportunity for prayers/intention setting etc; activities on the side for kids who don’t want to sit through this

  • 4:00-4:30 β€” share a story + introduce craft/activity

  • 4:30-5:15 β€” craft/activity/free play

  • 5:15-5:30 β€” family tea and closing

Moon School gathers whenever the new moon or full moon falls.

Examples of crafts/activities:

  • Make your own Moon Calendar β€” for tracking the phases of the moon at home as a family

  • Creating our own beeswax altar candles β€” make together and bring home to play with creating your own altar at home

  • Creating Intention Paper β€” bring your own scrap paper to recycle into homemade paper that can be used to write intentions on as a family with each moon cycle

Moon School families will also have the opportunity to lead in skill sharing or craft projects, to keep the collaborative spirit of Moon School alive.

Some activities may be planned in conjunction with other members and organizations in our community.

Moon School is an experiment β€” one where we will be practicing:

  • Parenting in Community

  • Honoring our intuition

  • Communicating our needs without shame or guilt (and receiving others)

  • Connecting with the natural rhythms of the moon and what that has to teach us

  • A deep relationship with the natural and supernatural worlds

  • Ecosystem thinking and amplifying an indigenous worldview

  • Eating with the seasons and the earth

  • Disconnecting from the distractions of our phones, emails and screens, in exchange for real quality time with our kids, other families, and the natural world

  • Creating art and making things for the sake of the creative process

  • Weaving ritual back into our day-to-day lives

We believe that practicing new things in community is easier than doing it alone.

Community opens up space for self reflection, accountability, shared resources, and support. This is the foundation of MOON VILLAGE, the container that holds Moon School during and in-between gatherings. Read more about Moon Village here.
